Cheryl's Children's home is a non-profit organization based in Kenya. It has its roots in Kibera, Africa's Second largest and most congested slum (After Soweto in S. Africa).

Cheryl's Children's home was founded on September 9th, 1999. The aim of starting the home was to provide a safe haven for unfortunate and orphaned children in our community, especially given its origins in the slums.

When it first began, Cheryl's Children's home first had its home in the sprawling slums of kibera. Here, the first group of children first found a family, a roof and somewhere to call home. All this in some pretty squalid but nevertheless beloved place for them.

Raw sewage flowed both in front of and behind this humble abode we were so proud of. As the population in the slum and the home grew, pressure was growing for us to move to a more spacious and cleaner environment. The children and workers risked contracting diseases such as cholera and dysentery.

With the help of well wishers and donors, we were able to acquire a small piece of land at the Jamhuri grounds junction. It is from here that we are now running our operations today. From some pretty basic structures, we have been able to house a number of destitute children, provide for their clothing and education as well as emotional needs.

A dedicated team of volunteers is always at hand to attend to the children's needs and assist them at all hours.

With the help of aid from well-wishers, we have been able to send 18 children to High school this year alone. we hope to be able to do better in coming years and to be able to give these innocent souls a chance in life.
